Vertical Testing Environment

02/11/16

TreeStuff.com, All Gear, and Rock Exotica bring you the coolest testing system ever: the Vertical Testing Environment.

The force created by arresting a falling object, be it a climber or a log, is far higher than simply the weight of that object. Rock Exotica and All Gear, in a partnership with TreeStuff.com, have recognized the need to develop a tool to see these forces in action. Using the VTE, we will demonstrate the forces involved in drops and falls and how they affect the equipment arborists use every day.

The VTE is a 30 foot tall steel tower specially made for testing of arborist equipment and techniques. The Vertical Testing Environment will be used for dynamic rigging tests, training, and demonstrations. The ability to attach logs and limbs in multiple positions allows for endless rigging scenarios and repeatable tests. We're excited to test different rigging systems by placing similar limbs in the same position and cutting or rigging them in different ways. With multiple platforms and connections, we'll be able to demonstrate lots of different climbing systems and techniques as well.

All Gear's high quality Husky Bull Rope and All-Rex 12 Strand anchor slings, along with Rock Exotica's precision-milled Omni Blocks, RockO Carabiners, and the Enforcer Load Cell will be the backbone for equipment tests and rigging demonstrations on the Vertical Testing Environment at TreeStuff.com Headquarters.
