The Power Mate® Rim Sprocket System from Oregon is the most effective way to drive saw chain on most chain saws. The system includes a clutch cup with spline and a replaceable rim sprocket which floats freely on the spline, maximizing the saw chain–bar groove alignment. The rim is designed to be replaced, maximizing operational life and reducing overall operational costs.

Bought this to replace spur drive and am very pleased with the results. I can tell a difference when cutting into hard wood it doesnt seem to bind the saw as much and the chain and bar dont get near as warm when limbing.
Oregon Power Mate Rim Sprocket System - 12/07/2016

This part replaced the old spur sprocket on my Husqvarna 350 chain saw. It was an exact fit. I did have to use the same needle bearings that were inside of my old sprocket as the new rim sprocket didn't come with bearings. The rim sprocket system makes much better contact with the chain and I am expecting to get much longer life out of both the sprocket and the chain. I also ordered an extra replaceable sprocket for $7.15. The only draw back is since I don't have a tool that you plug into the spark plug hole to keep the piston from rotating, I have to remove the spark plug and then insert a shop towel through the spark plug hole into the cylinder just to remove the sprocket. This is a Husqvarna design and is no fault of the new upgraded rim sprocket system.
