The next step forward - 04/07/2013
Self tends just as easily as the SpiderJack but does not require an "operation learning period" to use. It is entirely intuitive and responsive. Makes one wonder how climbing could possibly become easier.
Zigzag - 04/03/2013

There are two items that have totally changed the way I climb, The Anchor Bridge System and the ZigZag. This is the most amazing step forward in tree gear. I paired it with the Cougar climbing line and half of the AB for body thrusting and it is amazing. I have climbed on the VT for years but now basically having the same set up that doesn't have to be manually advanced, awesome. I love it and now that I've used it I don't mist the $$$$ I spent on it as much.

Just tried it today. And despite the instructions saying that it's only supposed to be for DRT, I also tried it SRT with the new Tree Wrench, and it works really well.
I agree with the other reviewers it is VERY sensitive; it'll take the user a few tries to get used to how reactive it is.
I am using Tachyon 11.5; the Zig Zag goes up this rope like it's greased and grabs as soon as you put weight on it.
Good job Petzl!
Smooth! - 03/26/2013
Smooth running device! Easy transition from a hitch as it functions and handles similar so it's an intuitive and quick changeover. built in swivel is slick and the unit works nicely with Tachyon. Some gripe that its not mid line attachable, but I've never really needed to "off/on" DdRT rope. Petzl Product experience PDF has some handy techniques for use and access. Still have my hitches for two line work and M rig with hitch climbers pulleys.
works great - 03/25/2013
When I first saw this product at the TCIA show in Baltimore I new I wanted one. Had to wait to get one but it was worth the wait. This device works like a champ. It tends slack like a dream. It works good on decent but can be a little touchy at times if you are hanging in mid air. With my feet against the tree it is very smooth. I hear that it doesn't work real well with 13mm climbing line which maybe a small draw back. It sure works good with 11.7mm rope. I highly recommend the ZigZag and can honestly say that its worth the price.
