Buckingham 6909U pole gaff guards - 02/04/2017

Buckingham also makes the 6909TU tree gaff guards. I checked with Josh at Treestuff and passed on these since I have tree gaffs. The 5909TU guards look similar, just longer. You can see the difference here:

These are basic, practical gaff guards. Nothing fancy but they absolutely do what they're supposed to. I always seem to lose one so I bought extra. However, after seeing some of the new gaff guards that have recently came on the market, I'm thinking about giving these a break.

Can't really get one to clip around the CT chest ascender on my gaff, but it stays on anyway without it wrapping all the way around. Very tenacious wire and solid protection. Obvious low price bonus.

Not at all what I expected. I figured then to be flimsy. I was kinda expecting a wire nut with a retaining wire, but these are actually pretty stout little dudes. Made entirely of steel and coated with a nice thick rubber material, these things are beefy...especially for less than $10. I would recommend to anyone who's ever had their gear bag destroyed by gaffs poking thru the leather-type covers. (Live n learn, right?)

saves your gaffs from concrete, asphalt, and rocks! less sharpening and you get stabbed less. Would recommend to anyone that does tree's

Dude... They're cheap and very practical. Cheap on price but tough. It's a great item to get you over the free shipping threshold!!
