Petzl announces the Ascentree

11/17/08

Petzl has announced the creation of its latest climbing innovation, the Ascentree.  Designed for ascending double ropes in trees using the "footlock" technique or with two Pantin foot ascenders. The ergonomic molded handle allows a comfortable yet powerful grip. To prevent rubbing, the cam is totally integrated into the body of the rope clamp. In case you want to get up there in cold weather the large handles can be used with thick gloves. The lower holes are perfect for connecting a lanyard, while the upper holes are which a carabiner attaches the device to the rope (useful for back-up belays).

The Ascentree should be available in the middle of January 2009.  You can pre-order yours here and we will ship it upon release.
