King of the Canopy Team Applications

King of the Canopy

October 7 - 8, 2017

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina

King of the Canopy (KotC) is the world's first true head to head tree climbing competition. First premiering at Jambo 2016 and making a surprise appearance at Jambo 2017, the format is now being featured as a stand alone event.

Two teams are split between two halves of a game zone and have a set amount of time to place tokens wherever they choose in the canopy. After the buzzer, the teams switch sides and attempt to retrieve the tokens placed by the other team. The first team to remove all of the other team's tokens wins the round.

Team Applications

TreeStuff is currently accepting team submissions. Team spots are limited to 8 teams total and will be invite only. Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot.

What we're looking for:

A team submission can be anything you want - a team video, a photo gallery, a letter, a music video, or an envelope full of cash. We want you to tell us about your whole team, not just one or two members. We want teams with a solid THEME (The Wisconsin Cheeseheads, 4 Climbers over 40, etc.). Show us what makes your team different and why you stand out from the crowd. Tell us about any involvement with climbing competitions (competing, judging, winning) and any accomplishments you or your team has made in the climbing world. Email your submission to One submission per team. Your email must include your team name and the name of each team member.

4 person teams - no more, no less.

Must be able to attend the competition in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina, October 7 and 8.

Must be able to pay a registration fee after being accepted (~$250 per climber, TBD)

By submitting a team application, you give TreeStuff the right to use it, including on social media, YouTube, or other forms of media.
